The regulation of student employment has changed significantly since 1 January 2012.
The Government now allows students to work 50 calendar days per year without having to pay the normal contributions (only a "solidarity" contribution of 2.71%, therefore much lower).
What about family allowance ? Will my parents still receive it if I'm working as a student ?
If you are under 18, your parents will receive family allowance regardless of the hours you work or your salary.
If you are over 18, you may work 240 hours per quarter during the academic year (1st, 2nd and 4th quarters) while retaining the right to family allowance. The allowance will be withdrawn for the entire quarter if the limit is exceeded.
